Celebrations
DEF hosts the Annual Excellence In Education Celebration in October, a welcome back breakfast for school staff in August and a Retirement Dinner in May.

Tuition Assistance
DEF provides tuition assistance for school staff to polish their skills.
National Board Certification
DEF provides financial assistance to encourage teachers to earn and keep their National Board Certification.
Honors
DEF Honors all Dare County Schools Teachers of the Year and all Nationally Board Certified Teachers by hosting a dinner in their honor. At the Annual Teacher of the Year Dinner, the district Teacher of the Year is awarded $1000.00 to attend the conference of his/her choice.
