Position Summary
The Executive Director is the key leader of the Dare Education Foundation and is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plans of the organization. The Executive Director will serve as the primary spokesperson, advancing the mission and vision of the organization, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring fiscal and operational integrity. The role involves strategic planning, fundraising, public relations, and overall management of operations and programs including the Teacher Housing Complexes to support Dare Education Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership Management
Strategic Vision: Develop and implement the strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
Program Oversight: Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of programs, ensuring they address community needs effectively.
Organizational Management: Direct the operational and administrative activities of the organization, including budgeting, reporting, and overall day-to-day management.
Board Governance: Partner with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization’s mission, provide necessary information to support effective Board decision-making, and facilitate Board development and engagement.
2. Financial Performance Viability
Budgeting; Fiscal Responsibility: Oversee the fiscal integrity of the organization, ensuring robust budgeting, accounting, and financial controls, and monitor spending and revenue to meet financial targets.
Fundraising Resource Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations.
Relationships: Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and other funding sources to ensure a diverse revenue stream.
3. Community Relations Advocacy
Public Relations: Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, enhancing the public image and reputation through media, public speaking engagements, and community events.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including teachers, parents, students, community leaders, government officials, donors, and partners, to support and strengthen the organization’s impact.
Advocacy: Advocate for the mission, interests, and programs of the organization, raising awareness and support within the community and with policymakers.
4. Team Culture
Volunteer Engagement: Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement, creating opportunities for meaningful involvement in the organization.
Salary range: $60,000-72,000
